Volunteering at Networking Events

Executive summary By: Darlene Willman

Some organizations have special opportunities to promote your business in return for helping to support them.

Initially, start attending and preview how the group is managed. Notice if they are needed additional support and what kind of exposure the current volunteers are receiving.

If there are no incentives or extra special perks available to you, maybe you could make the suggestion to them.

You need to go into the role of volunteering only if you can handle the additional time involved for your services. Be prepared to say "no" if the situation get's out of hand or is no longer serving you and your needs.

Volunteering at networking events can be extremely rewarding and I encourage you to evaluate each situation and do what feels right for you!
